I’m Rachel, your average 21 year old college student with a passion for healthy eating and fitness! I’ve been running since middle school, have completed Kayla Itsines’s BBG Guides more than 2 times, and I love to hike and be active outdoors. I am gluten and dairy free, mostly by choice, and make my healthy, nutritious lifestyle a priority. I am currently a third-year Marketing student at the University of Georgia, LOVE taking pretty pictures of my food, and of course, eating all the pretty food that I make.
Health has meant different things to me at different times in my life, but right now it means doing what is best for me at all times- physically, mentally, etc. Long gone are the days where I would force myself to workout every morning or even twice a day, even if I didn’t want to.
I’m not a huge baker or cooker, I tend to do easy recipes that can be made in less than 20 minutes. Preferably with the microwave. So if you think eating healthy is “too hard” you clearly just haven’t made anything that I eat on a regular basis. I have been trying to go more “plant-based” lately, which means I have been spending a little extra time experimenting in the kitchen, but I definitely haven’t mastered the art of baking yet.
I feel like the natural social media transition is from Instagram to a blog, so I’m not exactly new to the blogging world. I’ve tried blogging a few times in the past, but never felt like I had anything “blog worthy” to say. I’ve posted recipes, workouts, personal stories about my struggles being orthorexic in high school, my experience with the freshman 15 in college, and how I trained for a couple half marathons along my journey.
All of these make for good topics, but I never had the time or resources to fully invest in a blog until now. I started my first blogging attempt at 16, not really knowing what I wanted to say. I paid by the month, always forgetting to post which resulted in me cancelling my subscription. My Instagram account at the time was relatively small and I couldn’t have imagined the growth that I would have 5 years down the road.
Now at 21, I still don’t exactly know what I want to say. I’m a runner, a daughter, a friend, a college student, and an Instagram Influencer. So we will give this whole “blog” thing a shot again, hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do!
